Another New Hampshire survey places DeSantis in single digits and gives Trump a commanding lead over Haley.

According to a poll released on Wednesday, former President Donald Trump is leading former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley by double digits in the New Hampshire primary.

Meanwhile, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is only receiving single digit support in the Granite State.

The Saint Anselm College survey was carried out following Trump’s decisive win in Monday’s Iowa Caucus and took into account the recent exits from the 2024 campaign trail of biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy and former New Jersey governor Chris Christie.

The Siena survey was the second survey that was made public on Wednesday, indicating that the 77-year-old former president was still leading Haley by ten points in New Hampshire.

Since then, Haley’s support has grown by seven points less than a week before the January 23 New Hampshire GOP primary, the percentage increased to 38% in the Saint Anselm College poll from last week.

With his performance in Iowa helping him no doubt, Trump’s support has increased by 7 points since last week, reaching 52%, giving him a 14-point lead over the 51-year-old former governor of South Carolina and UN ambassador.

Only 6% of New Hampshire voters favored DeSantis, the 44-year-old governor of the Sunshine State, according to a Saint Anselm College survey, indicating that his second-place finish in Iowa did not change anything.

According to the poll, 51% of respondents who said they had changed their minds because of the Iowa results and 60% of respondents who said they had changed their preferred candidate due to recent withdrawals from the race now back Haley today’s caucus results support Trump.

Regarding the survey’s results, Neil Levesque, executive director of the New Hampshire Institute of Politics, stated that “Trump and Haley have split most of the supporters of the former candidates [Christie and Ramaswamy].”

Levesque also cited Haley’s decision to forego the now-canceled Thursday debate in New Hampshire with DeSantis as evidence of a potential lost chance for the Haley campaign to close the gap on Trump.

He stated that Hayley was still far behind the front-runner and that there were concerns about her decision to miss the debate in New Hampshire.

This could mean that she will miss her best opportunity to gain the support of the voters needed to overtake the leader.

According to a Suffolk University/NBC10 Boston/Boston Globe poll, Trump has 50% of the support of likely Republican voters in New Hampshire, followed by Haley (34%), and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (5%).

The poll, which was also released on Wednesday, was similarly conducted in the wake of Christie and Ramaswamy’s withdrawal from the race and Trump’s resounding victory in the Iowa Caucus.
