Falsely, Donald Trump claims that Kamala Harris mislead people over her race.
In an interview that swiftly descended into hostility, Donald Trump erroneously claimed that Kamala Harris had misled voters about her race when the former president spoke Wednesday in Chicago before the National Association of Black Journalists.
The former president of the United States, a Republican, falsely stated that Harris, the first Asian American and Black woman to hold the office of vice president, had only ever highlighted her Indian ancestry in the past.
“She turned Black a few years ago, and now she wants to be known as Black.
I didn’t realize she was Black until then.
I’m not sure if she’s Black or Indian, though.
Trump stated during the annual meeting of the organization.
Harris is the daughter of immigrants to the United States, a Jamaican father and an Indian mother.
One of the most well-known historically Black institutions and universities in the country, Howard University, is where Harris completed her undergraduate studies.
There, she also made her pledge to the historically Black sorority Alpha Kappa Alpha.
As a senator from the United States, Harris belonged to the Congressional Black Caucus and supported laws that improved voting rights and changed the way the police were administered.
From the moment Harris took President Joe Biden’s place atop the presumptive Democratic ticket last week, Trump has attacked Harris extensively.
The former president has frequently questioned the racial minority’ backgrounds of his opponents during his political career.

“The hostility Donald Trump showed on stage today is the same hostility he has shown throughout his life, throughout his term in office, and throughout his campaign for president as he seeks to regain power,” stated Michael Tyler, the communications director for Harris’ campaign, in a statement.
“Throughout his presidency, Trump insulted and attacked Black journalists in the same way he did for Black families, leaving the entire nation to dig itself out of the ditch he left us in,” Tyler added.
“Donald Trump tries to divide us because he has already shown he cannot bring America together.
When asked about Trump’s comments during her Wednesday news briefing, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre expressed shock and originally said, “Whoa.”
Black activist Jean-Pierre described Trump’s remarks as “repulsive” and asserted that “no one has the right to tell someone who they are or how they identify.”
Trump has frequently used race as a justification to disparage and criticize his opponents.
By spreading untrue rumors that the country’s first Black president, Barack Obama, was not born in the country, he became well-known in Republican politics.
The so-called “Birtherism” was just the beginning of Trump’s history of challenging the qualifications and qualifications of Black politicians.
He has refuted claims that he is racist.
A spokesman for the Trump team also cited a prior Trump political donation to Harris as evidence that the candidate wasn’t racist, following Biden’s selection of Harris as his running partner four years prior.
According to spokesperson Katrina Pierson, “the president, as a private businessman, donated to candidates across all aisles.”
“And I hope we can squash this racism argument now that he donated to Kamala Harris’ campaign, as she is a Black woman,” Pierson remarked.
He once called Nikki Haley, the daughter of Indian immigrants and former U.N. ambassador, “Nimbra” during this year’s Republican race.
