Following Trump’s overwhelming victory in Iowa, Republicans are looking to New Hampshire.

In an effort to impede the former president’s progress toward the party’s White House nomination, Donald Trump and his rival Republicans began a week-long campaign trail in New Hampshire on Tuesday.

The day following Iowans’ resounding victory in the first round of the 2024 presidential election, Trump—who is embroiled in a number of criminal and civil legal proceedings—appeared in a New York court to defend himself against accusations that he defamed writer E. Jean Carroll following her decades-old accusation of rape.

Trump, 77, is expected to face Democratic President Joe Biden, 81, in a close and contentious rematch after more than half of Iowa voters supported him.

in the presidential campaign that will take place in November.

In Iowa, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, 45, came in well behind Trump, placing former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, 51, in third place.

Speaking to a group of supporters in Atkinson, New Hampshire, which is about an hour’s drive north of Boston, Trump stated of Haley and DeSantis, “We really gotta get back on to Biden and beating the Democrats, and not wasting a lot of time with these two.”

Trump is staking his claim that he can eliminate his competitors and expedite the typically months-long Republican selection process by winning several convincing early primary contests.

Similar to Iowa, the candidates must deal with bitter cold and snow as they attempt to mobilize supporters for campaign events prior to the January 23 New Hampshire primary ballot.

Haley informed a group of about a hundred supporters who had braved a snowstorm that Trump was the wrong choice at a hotel in Bretton Woods, a secluded area in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.

Whether it’s right or wrong, chaos follows him. Haley, who organized the event with Governor Chris Sununu of New Hampshire, remarked, “You know I’m right,” to applause.

Desantis said he was encouraged that nearly half of Iowa voters cast ballots for candidates other than Trump during a CNN-moderated town hall at New England College in the town of Henniker.

“(That) tells me that there is an appetite for a different leader,” DeSantis stated. Earlier on Tuesday, he participated in a campaign event in South Carolina, the site of the Republican primary.
