The Navy helicopter’s six crew members survive the crash into San Diego Bay.

According to a military official, all six crew members of the Navy helicopter that went down on Thursday during routine training and crashed into San Diego Bay survived.

A Navy spokesperson for the Naval Air Force Pacific Fleet, Commander Beth Teach, told FOX 5 that at approximately 6:40 p.m., the Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 41 arrived in the bay close to Naval Amphibious Base Coronado.

“A safety boat was on location due to the nature of the training, and all six crew members survived and were immediately moved ashore with the help of Federal Fire,” Teach said.

According to the Navy, all six crew members are currently undergoing medical evaluation.

To ascertain the reason, an investigation is being conducted of the collision.

With the incident, the US Coast Guard provided assistance.
