Trump’s account of a terrifying helicopter flight and averted death? Didn’t occur, according to Willie Brown
When former President Donald Trump related his terrifying story of nearly crashing in a helicopter, he confused two well-known California legislators.
Trump recalled being a passenger in the helicopter with former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown when it had to make an emergency landing at a convoluted press conference on Thursday that was full of lies and misleading claims.

In answer to a query concerning Brown’s relationship with Vice President Kamala Harris thirty years prior, the remarks were made.
But the former mayor said that Brown and Trump had never flown together in a helicopter.
Instead, Trump was escorted on a helicopter by former California Governor Jerry Brown 2018 to assess the damage caused by wildfires; no recorded emergency landings occurred.
Politico revealed on Friday night that former state senator and city councilman for Los Angeles, Nate Holden, claimed to have traveled with Trump in an almost-crash-prone helicopter on its way to New Jersey.
Holden said to Politico, “Willie is the short Black guy living in San Francisco.”
“I’m a tall Black man who resides in L.A.”
This appears to be the most recent instance of Trump making up names or sharing stories that don’t hold up to close examination in order to denigrate Democratic presidential hopeful Kamala Harris.
In reference to the purported event, Trump remarked, “I know Willie Brown very well.” Actually, I crashed into a helicopter with him.
We believed that perhaps this was the conclude.
He continued, saying, “There was an emergency landing while we were traveling together in a helicopter.
It was not a comfortable landing.
Brown allegedly told Trump “terrible things” about Harris as well. “
At that point, he wasn’t a big fan of hers.”
But Brown denied ever riding in a helicopter with Trump, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
Brown told the newspaper, “You would have known if I had gone down on a helicopter with Trump.”
The veteran Democratic lawmaker claimed that he has never made negative remarks about Harris to Trump.
“Hell no,” replied Brown. “
I wouldn’t speak poorly of any woman to him.”
Trump did take a helicopter trip with Democratic former governor of California Jerry Brown to
an analysis of 2018 wildfire damage. However, there were no flight-related issues noted.
Gavin Newsom, the current governor, was also on board. Izzy Gardon, a Democrat’s spokesperson, stated on Friday that there was no emergency landing, no communication regarding Harris, and no issue with the airplane.
Harris’s previous relationship with Willie Brown has come to light since she was selected as the Democratic contender for president.

Trump and other Republicans have taken advantage of their closeness to criticize Harris, claiming she didn’t earn her political positions in the first place.
Harris is running for office again.
In the 1990s, Brown was dating Harris while he was the speaker of the California State Assembly. In 1982, Brown’s marriage to his wife ended.
Harris 59, worked for many years in the Bay Area as a prosecutor before being appointed attorney general of the state in 2010 and winning a seat in the US Senate in 2016.
Since 2014, she and Doug Emhoff have been wed.
When questioned on Friday on Newsmen, Trump campaign spokesperson Karoline Leavitt declined to address the contradictions in Trump’s narrative.
Leavitt replied, “I would just direct you to President Trump’s statement and what he said yesterday.”
“The president has many incredible life stories to share.”
