Sean “Diddy” Combs is indicted for sex trafficking, and bail is once again refused.

The music mogul’s lawyer asked for a $50 million bail sum.

A judge decided on Wednesday night that Sean “Diddy” Combs, who is accused of forced sex trafficking, transportation for prostitution, and racketeering conspiracy, will be detained without bond.

Combs was remanded into custody after Judge Andrew Carter granted him bail; according to Combs’s counsel, he would be kept in the Metropolitan Detention Center-Brooklyn’s special housing section.

Carter claimed there was enough information to conclude that Combs posed a risk to the public, could thwart the course of justice, and could intimidate witnesses.

The defense’s suggested bail amount, according to Carter, is “insufficient.”

Combs remained seated with his eyes downcast, but he did not seem to respond at the table of defense.

Marc Agni filo, the music mogul’s counsel, announced his intention to challenge the judge’s decision once more as he left the court on Wednesday night.

Agni filo told reporters outside the courthouse, “The fight continues, we’re not giving up by a long shot.”

He also said that, although he would “much prefer to do that with him out of jail,” as his lawyer, he would “do everything I can to move this trial as fast as possible,” even though it’s still unclear if Combs would waive his right to a speedy trial.

Agni filo stated, “Mr. Combs has maintained he’s innocent.”

“I believe him; he’s a man and a smart guy who knows what he did and didn’t do as well as what he intended and didn’t intend.”

Who understands what it’s like to be found not guilty by a jury of twelve New Yorkers, and he’s hoping that will happen once more.”

Prior to rendering his decision, Carter had shown doubt about the defense’s assertion that a 2016 video, which showed Combs kicking and dragging Cassie Ventura, was the result of a ten-year romantic relationship ending due to her jealousy of his extramarital affairs.

“What’s love got to do with that?” Asked Carter.

While acknowledging that the film was “a hard video to watch,” Agni filo insisted that this “doesn’t mean he should be in jail.”

Advancing Combs’s detention, prosecutor Emily Johnson charged him with a “longstanding pattern of abuse,” claiming his victims had a “severe dread” of Combs due to his stature in the entertainment business.

According to Johnson, in an attempt to keep the victim’s support in the public eye, Combs called the victim in November 2023, following the filing of Ventura’s legal case.

Prosecutors claim that the victim told Combs that she felt as though she was reading about her own sexual trauma when she read Ventura’s lawsuit.

The woman reportedly resisted Combs’ attempts to persuade her that she had willfully engaged in the actions since that was “not how she saw things,” according to Johnson.

Prosecutors claim Diddy provides financial support to the lady, but he assured her that “she ain’t got nothing to worry about” provided she continued to back him.

It was evident, according to the prosecution, that Combs would utilize financial pressure to keep victims near.

Considering the Agni filo offered to station one or two retired police officers at Combs’ residence at all times to monitor who enters and maintain a visitor’s record in response to the judge’s expressed concerns about possible witness tampering.

“What I am trying to fashion is a situation where any witness intimidation … would be virtually impossible,” Agni filo stated.

What Does It Mean When Someone Is Indicted On Charges

Agni filo challenged Judge Robyn Tarkovsky’s Tuesday decision to hold the 54-year-old pending trial before Wednesday’s hearing.

Agni filo stated in a letter to the court before to the hearing on Wednesday that Combs is “eminently trustworthy” and ought to be freed on a $50 million bond.

Combs, his mother, his sister, his three adult sons, and the moms would have all co-signed the bond, which would have been secured by his $48 million Miami house of the alleged behavior, the defendant has threatened and intimidated security personnel as well as interfered with their ability to testify against him.”

“He has already tried to obstruct the Government’s investigation of this case, repeatedly contacting victims and witnesses and feeding them false narratives of events.”

“There are simply no conditions that would ensure that the defendant’s efforts to obstruct and tamper with witnesses will stop,” prosecutors stated.

Additionally, he contended that “we told the government where he was going” when Combs made two trips, one to a whitewater rafting adventure and the other to attend his child’s graduation party.

He informed the judge, “Trust has to be earned, and we have earned it.”

Combs underwent a mental health assessment on Tuesday after being brought to the jail administered by physiologists with the Bureau of Prisons, according to people who were aware of his confinement.

The purpose of the evaluation is to ascertain whether he should be put on suicide watch or in the Special Housing Unit.

Corrections officers must provide round-the-clock supervision and hourly checks for suicide watch participants.

El Chapo and other prominent MDC prisoners were housed in Special Housing, a segregated area of the institution.

Diddy, who has a history of opiate abuse, may be in special housing or on suicide watch; nonetheless, the sources told ABC News that he is not a part of the MDC general population.
