Vandalized beyond repair Satanic display at Iowa Capitol arrest made
The Satanic Temple of Iowa declared on Thursday that there had been serious damage to their exhibit at the Iowa Capitol.
The contentious exhibit, dubbed “objectionable” by Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds, showed a mannequin with a ram’s head covered in mirrors that was eventually broken.
It is a representation of their freedom of religion, according to the organizers.
On their Facebook page, The Satanic Temple of Iowa shared the following message:
Authorities notified us this morning that the Baphomet statue in our holiday exhibit was irreparably damaged. We are honored to have been given an additional few days to continue our holiday display.
We request that guests travel in groups and make use of the 7
Tenets serve as a helpful reminder to be empathetic while keeping in mind that justice is being served properly and legally.
According to KCCI, Michael Cassidy, 35, of Lauderdale, Mississippi, was accused of fourth-degree criminal mischief. Since then, he’s been set free.
