An updated complaint detailing over forty claims of plagiarism has been made against Claudine Gay, the embattled president of Harvard University.

The Washington Free Beacon was able to obtain the 37-page document, which lists numerous instances in which Gay, a political scientist, is accused of quoting or paraphrasing authors without giving due credit in her academic writings, in violation of the rigorous policies of the Ivy League school.

The outlet claims to have independently confirmed the authenticity of the claims and the author’s identity, a reputable professor from a different university who asked to remain anonymous out of concern for reprisals.

“It is not possible that your office has looked over all of these the complaint, which was submitted to Harvard on Tuesday, states that “many of the materials… have not been previously reported or submitted.”

When The Post asked Harvard University for comment on Wednesday, the university did not answer right away.

Earlier this month, Gay was accused of plagiarism for allegedly stealing ideas from other academics for her 1997 doctoral thesis and for failing to give proper credit to four papers that were published between 1993 and 2017.

Gay allegedly copied portions of her 1993 book “Black Faces, Black Interests The Representation of African Americans in Congress” and a 1997 article titled “Women and Blacks in Congress 1870-1996,” according to Carol Swain, a former political science professor at Vanderbilt University.

In a Wall Street Journal essay, she continued, saying, “Ms. Gay had she had no trouble taking credit for other people’s work without giving them due credit.

Not everyone who had their work stolen by her is as angry as I am they are the elites who stand to gain from a system that looks out for its own.

Following the accusations, The Post disclosed how Harvard employed a bulldog law firm to assist in concealing a weeks-long probe into whether Gay had utilized other researchers’ work without giving credit.

The Harvard Corporation, which is the highest governing body of the university, said in a statement on December 12 that it learned about plagiarism allegations in late October and that they had started an independent investigation.

Then they declared that they had found three instances of Gay’s “inadequate citation,” but no wrongdoing.

The corporation also stated that the board of the university has unanimous support for Gay.

Gay fiercely defended her academic rigor in a statement to the Boston Globe, saying, “I stand by the integrity of my scholarship.”

I have made it my mission to uphold the highest academic standards in my scholarship application throughout my career.

Congress has taken notice of the plagiarism claims, and, according to the Harvard Crimson, The House Committee on Education and the Workforce has added the charges of plagiarism to an ongoing investigation into antisemitism on college campuses.

Gay was already facing criticism for how she handled antisemitic behavior on campus in the wake of the Hamas terror attacks on Israel on October 7 and for her remarks during a separate congressional hearing regarding the attacks declined to denounce Harvard students who demanded the extermination of Jews.

Gay stated in her testimony, “We embrace a commitment to free expression – even views that are objectionable, offensive, and hateful.”

It occurs when speech transgresses into actions that contravene our anti-bullying and anti-harassment policies. That barrier was not crossed by that speech.

A resolution demanding that Gay resign from her position was introduced by a bipartisan group of congressmen in the ensuing controversy, but the college supported Gay.

Days after the October 7 attack, a man wearing a Palestinian keffiyeh called Jews “pigs” and “Nazis,” and students repeatedly waved banners referring to Israel as a “apartheid state” during anti-Israel protests at Harvard.

The Department of Education is also looking into Harvard’s handling of antisemitism title VI prohibits racial, religious, and national origin discrimination in organizations receiving federal funding.
