In August, Meadows, former President Donald Trump, and seventeen other individuals were indicted on allegations that they had unlawfully colluded to maintain the Republican incumbent’s position of authority in spite of his defeat by Democrat Joe Biden.

Meadows’ request was denied by a three-judge panel of the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, which upheld a September ruling from a lower court.

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, who filed the lawsuit and is attempting to have it tried, has won with the decision the remaining defendants in a state court trial in Georgia.

A request for comment on the ruling was not immediately answered by Meadows’ attorneys on Monday. Willis’s representative declined to provide a statement.
