Although Woods, who turns 48 on December 30, has had hardships since sustaining serious leg injuries in an automobile accident in 2021, he claims to be healthy enough to play once a month in 2024.
He attributed his late-game struggles to not giving his shots his all.
“It was just a lack of commitment in the middle of my round, and it kind of carried over into some of the final holes,” Woods remarked.
“I wasn’t sure about some of the shots. The wind was blowing up or not, laying down all the things you normally take for granted with feels and adjustments, and I wasn’t sure if I should hit this shot at this height and trajectory. I was not fully committed to several different shots.

“It was a lack of dedication to my feelings and actions. I have to perform better at it.
Although Woods acknowledged he was physically exhausted at the end of the round, he seemed to move well throughout the layout.
I’m definitely a little sore, Woods admitted. “We need to finish a few things tonight in order to be ready for tomorrow. Tomorrow, go back to the gym and go hard; maybe you’ll post a better time.

Woods, who was mentally rusty, was eager to compete again, even if it was only in a 20-player invitational as opposed to a US PGA Tour match.
“I thought I was prepared to play and compete. I had a great day for the most part, Woods remarked. “I simply didn’t mentally complete the tasks that I ought to have done and usually do. I hit it crookedly, but I still hit it solid.
Before making a bogey at the fourth hole, Woods birdied the par-5 third, then the par-3 fifth, the par-5 eleventh, and the par-3 twelfth. He also made a birdie at the fourteenth hole, but his closing misfortunes came when he tried to birdie the par-3 twelveth.
“I had a respectable start. Woods remarked, “I didn’t play the par-5s that well. “I now understand mentally what I should be doing better.
