According to a press release from the police, “it appears speed and reckless driving were factors in this incident.”

It is still unclear to police whether the children in the blue sedan were operating the vehicle on their own or if the driver also ran away.

Water poured into the street as a result of the collision breaking off a fire hydrant at the intersection. Despite having been fixed, the fire hydrant was still leaking water into the gutter on Saturday morning.

A neighbor who wished to remain anonymous told KTVU that he heard the loud crash and fled the house.

“My brother and I heard it at around midnight,” he said.

We leapt over the guardrail. Me and additional individuals from the neighbors were forcing the young man out of the car by smashing the doors.”

While he and others were removing the boys from the wrecked car, he witnessed two people flee.

“People were running, just now. “It doesn’t matter who is running; our only goal is to save lives,” the neighbor remarked.

The boy in the passenger seat was rescued with the assistance of neighbors. The witness who attempted to assist found it to be a distressing scene.

“His face was completely covered in blood. It knocked him out. It was two young men; I’m not sure if it was his brother, cousin, or someone else.

The witness remarked, “And we just took him out and began praying over him.” “They were also quite young. What was visible to you was in their faces, they looked young.”
